2. Monitor and review ill health related absences on project with a view to establishing cause. |
Contact Company HR department to establish extent of ill health absence on project.
Encourage contractors to monitor and report ill health cases.

Review identified ill health cases with Company Health and Safety Professional with a view to introducing more effective control measures to eliminate cause and reduce absence. |

3. Review Company procedures in relation to occupational health with particular reference to facilitating earlier return to work. |
Health Champion to make himself/ herself more familiar with Company occupational health procedures e.g. pre start medicals, health surveillance, absence management and return to work.
Review all those employees who have been off work with health problems for more than 1 month and seek to facilitate their return to work by way of light duties, part time working and other ways. |
Health Champion to suggest ideas to his/her line manager as to how procedures can be improved to facilitate more effective management of occupational health.
Health Champion to seek earlier return/rehabilitation of two long term absentees (over 1 month absence due to illness/ill health). |

4. Ensure workers involved in safety critical work meet appropriate fitness standards. |
